We found this place when we were looking for interesting sightseeing places for my two nieces in Kawaguchiko Japan. It costs just under 2000yen to make a glass bead. To make a glass bead, you would choose a base color rod and 3 complimentary color rods. The session lasts about 15 minutes. The staffs here are very nice and would guide you in detailed steps to make glass beads. Unfortunately, all instructions are only available in Japanese. After making the glass bead, you can leave the glass bead to cool off for 30 minutes and then pick up later. For additional charge, the craft center can make it into a bracelet, bookmark, etc. Besides bead making, there are also many different hand-making activities available such as pottery making and soba noodle making. This is definitely a memorable activities and nice for kids to kill time in Kawaguichiko.

I booked the Mt. Fuji with Lake Kawagushi tour on Klook. VIP Lounge was the tour operator. I didn’t understand why we had to stop here and have lunch only here. The food was lousy (who wants to eat sausage and fried chicken in Japan?!) and the 50ish female cashier had the worst attitude! I was looking for vegetarian and pescetarian options but she gave me the worst attitude and spoke annoyingly in Japanese right in front of me. She’s the only Japanese on this entire Japan trip who is grossly unpleasant! I urge everyone to avoid this place at all cost. So not worth it!
