In one word: amazing!
We did the 4 day hike from Lushoto to Mtae with our wonderful guide Chris and loved every bit of it! The communication with Ally prior to the trip was smooth. Chris is very kind, knowledgeable about nature, people and the local villages and good company to walk with. The hike was beautiful, the views were stunning and we loved the change of scenery when we entered the Shagayu rain forest. Also the accommodations and food was great. Asante sana for this awesome experience in the Usambara mountains!

We did a three days hiking tour trough the Usambara mountains. Our Guide Chris was super friendly, told us a lot about all the different plants and villages you‘ll pass on the way. He also chose super beautiful lodges for the nights and delicious local food. We had a really good time, saw a lot of different places and landscapes and enjoyed three days out of all the rush from the cities. An area of the country you should visit when you are here!

Usambara mountains was the highlight of our one month trip in Tanzania. This is the pefect way to get to know the culture while hiking in amazing nature. Play with local Kids along the way, different accommondation (homestay, convention, cabin etc.), good food... Ally is very genuine guy Who helped us to plan the trip. Very professional and easy to communicate with. Also he kidly helped us to plan our next stop to Magoroto forest.

Thank you so much Ally, I can 100% recommend to do your trip with Usambara Eco Tours.

Above all our guide Mahmoud was so much more than we could ever hope. He made this trip undorgettable. He knows so much about the nature and the culture and everything was very well organized. Thank you for these amazing 5 days in Usambara❤️

We went on a three day hike with Chris and had an amazing time.
The landscape and culture you get to experience along the way is really beautiful and interesting. The hike was not too demanding so we were able enjoy the views, plants and meet some chameleons on the way.
Our guide Chris has a fascinating botanical knowledge and is a super relaxed guide. Everything was perfectly organized and we enjoyed those three days to the fullest.
The accommodations were unique, we felt very welcome there and got to eat amazing local food all the time.

Would highly recommend a hike in the Usambara Mountains with Usambara Eco Tours!

I did the 5 day hike solo with Chris and it was amazing. Chris is extremely knowledgeable about the flora, the fauna, the history of the surroundings and of Tanzania, the different tribes etc. It never got monotonous. At each guesthouse/Lodge or convent Chris first assured himself that the room and food was to my liking prior to retiring to his own quarters. In one word, the Usambara Hike was excellent and memorable thanks to Chris!

I had a wonderful time doing a 3-day hiking trip from Lushoto to Mambo and a day trip to Bumbuli/Mazumbai. The communication with Ally for the organization was very smooth and clear. My guide was Haji and I’m very satisfied. Haji knows a lot of things, and he is really nice and careful. The accommodation and food were also very good. I highly recommend Usambara eco tours. Next time I come to Tanzania I’ll definitely contact them for another trip in this beautiful area, and hopefully I will be with the same guide! Thank you for your great job.

Had a great 3 day hike with Chris! He was funny, super knowledgable, and easy to get along with. Everything was easy to set up and the accommodations were really cool (Mambo Viewpoint and Bushbaby Homestay). Chris also helped us set up taxis and the bus when we finished. The Shagayu Rainforest and Kidege Waterfall were definitely highlights. Highly highly recommend!

From start to finish Ally and my guide Chris were fantastic. They were responsive to my many questions and emails and were very flexible with arranging and rearranging parts of the trip. I wasn't feeling my best for the first few days, and Chris was very accommodating and considerate. The walk itself was beautiful, a day in Shangu forest followed by three days winding through villages back to Lushoto. Chris has an amazing talent for finding chameleons! I travelled on my own as a single woman and felt incredibly safe the whole time. Asante sana guys!

We had great day trips with "Chris Chameleon". It was incredible how many chameleons he found.
He told us a lot about the cultural background and about the plants. We really enjoyed the two days in the beautiful countryside!
The organisation before was also great. Ally always responded directly and was able to help us with any questions we had.

We did a 3 days hike through the Usumbara mountains with our amazing guide Chris. We booked our tour through Ally who was very helpful. Chris picked us up from the bus station where we arrived and organized the rest of the tour until he would drop us to the bus to Daressalam again. We enjoyed his knowledge about all the plants and trees in the Usumbara mountains and felt well entertained during our hikes. The views are incredible and the many villages you pass very beautiful.
