This is an easy, short and family friendly walk. A walk of about 15 minutes through a bush with a chance to see many birds particularly the fantail. The of the walk is a summit which has a marvelous view.

This was a quick stop on our drive north, but we enjoyed the oversized gumboot as well as other gumboot-themed things in the town.

They say that they are the GumBoot Capital of the world. Who knows and who cares but the town seems a good place to break a long trip and have a feed to recharge the batteries.

This is a really cool statue that looks like it is made of rubber. It is a good statue to have in gumboot town of Taihape!

Worth a quick look as you pass by. A lot of rural NZ towns seem to want to have an identifying 'statue' of something relevant to their town's activities, and Taihape is no exception.

Seen the BIG Gumbo of but they also have beautiful old buildings and some have been done up and others left but they still look amazing

This large gum boot made of corrugated tin is very good street art. It’s worth stopping for a photo opportunity.you won’t miss it on the main road.

I am a fan of street art and this is street art on a large scale. Its a great landmark which is worth a photo stop on the way into or out of Taihape.

A good opportunity for taking picture. At the sideway. Loved the display. Easy to spot as it's right on the way through town.

it was moved from it's original location to one besides the main state highway - good idea - why was it ever put where it was originally is beyond me. Anyway, makes for a nice photo opportunity

Great photo opportunity in a pleasant picnic site, Taihape honours the gumboot with Gumboot Day (usually early in March each year) featuring a gumboot throwing competition and many other activities.
