Very dissapointed. Basically, we paid a lot for spending more time snorkeling in the reef than looking for dolphins. The company has a strict code of conduct with dolphins the staff don't meet. They engaged and disengaged the motor several times close to the dolphins and they told us to jump twice to the water with a couple of dolphins described by the monitor as "not sociable at all". We didn't swim with them, but only saw them pass through.

Dear Maria We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience. Each trip and encounter with the dolphins is a different one, they are wild animals, from your description you encountered traveling dolphins and you got pass through sightings. Which is quite a common experience on our trips, if the dolphins are not social when we find them. As long as there is no avoidance behaviour from the dolphins and they are not resting/sleeping, we drop our clients ahead of the traveling pod so you may get that pass through sighting. With regards to the boat engine engaging and disengaging, we run 4 stroke motors to minimise any noise pollution in the water and the skipper has a the tricky job of dropping the snorkelers in the correct spot to try to ensure a sighting as the dolphins pass through. Thank you for your feedback. Kind Regards Megan and the Dolphin Team

We had a 6 am start, and were kitted out by very able staff. The boat trip was exciting, especially making our way through the surf. Everything was explained carefully, and we were eager to start seeing dolphins. Unfortunately we didn't even catch sight of a single dolphin, but that is the nature of the sea. We did stop at a shallow reef and got into the water. I struggled at first to get used to breathing through a snorkel, being an inland mountain person, and used to lots of available fresh air(!), but once I got the hang of it, I couldn't get enough of the amazing fish down there, and I was one of the last back on the boat, which was a good thing, as I get seasick on a stationary boat. On our way back in we did see a sea turtle surveying us... We will definitely be back, and next time, maybe we'll see dolphins. I can't wait!
