As inexperienced hikers we really enjoyed this challenge. Take plenty of water. We took off around noon and shared two bottles of water up and back. We could of easily consumed another bottle on the way up.

The walk was more strenuous than I expected but well worth it. Remember to take water as there is none there. Lots of families enjoying themselves. Walking boots or track shoes certainly a wise choice.
The Castle Rock is one of the (if not the) main attractions of Porongurup National Park.
To clarify, the Castle Rock hiking trail will lead you to both the Balancing Rock and Granite Sky Walk, although TripAdvisor has them split into different pages.
A really lovely hike with fabulous views from the top. Most of the walk is through shady bush, alive with song birds and pretty lizards. Our two young kids managed the hike and climb with ease. We had lots of rest stops, wildlife watching stops...More
