Stunning waterfalls!
Apr 2021 • Couples
There are bigger waterfalls than this of course, but the access to these falls with one bridge running over it and another bridge right under the falls gives you an absolutely stunning close up view of the natural power of the falls. We visited when it had just rained and the falls were in full flow. Definitely worth a quick visit.

Sooo beautiful
Feb 2021 • Couples
Much better than the Reichenbach one in Meiringen!
Narrow road to access from Brienz but good car park(can be crowded in the
Summer)
The falls are beautiful and you can enjoy them from paths on 3 levels.
We were lucky to go right after snow falls and it was just fairy tail view.
The hotel is closed until early April but the view from the open terrace over the Brienzer lake is stunning.
There is a funicular train, a 4 min ride from the lake to the hotel.

It is just a waterfall
Jul 2020 • Family
The pathway to the waterfall is s bit craggy. The waterfall itself is not awe inspiring but the views are.

Fairy tale place with amazing waterfall
Jun 2020 • Couples
Amazing location, on the lake Brienz (I recommend to get there via boat), with a small funicular railway that brings to a hotel. The landscape is beautiful, and there are many hiking trails to do. The waterfall is just amazing and you can watch it from different points of view.

beautiful walk
May 2020
a nice waterfall, but first of all it is a beautiful walk between Giessbach and Iseltwald, all along the shore of the lake, through the forrest and with spectacular panoramic views. gorgeous.

Secluded waterfall with amaxing views
Oct 2019 • Couples
We took a boat from Interlaken Ost (across the road) to reach Giessbach. After getting down you can either hike up or take a Furnicular (CHF 5) one way to the only hotel up there and base of the waterfall.
The hike up is easy and can be done in 20 to 30 min comfortable if you walk without taking breaks to click the beautiful picture along. Once on top u can go up to the point where in you are inside a cave and behind the waterfall. It is an absolute amazing feeling to be there and see the view from up.

Get close to the waterfall... it's an amazing feeling
Jul 2019
We were on our way to Brienz lake from Ballenberg. We had a stop to enjoy the beautiful waterfall. Our initial plan was to stay overnight at the Grand Hotel Geissbach but it was fully booked as a long weekend was approaching. It is amazing how beautiful the waterfall is and you can actually walk underneath the rocks to get so close to the waterfall. The only disappointment that we had is that the parking system outside of the entrance. There is no hourly fees. You need to pay CHF5/day rate regardless how long you would spend there. Even if you just want to stay for 1-2 hours, you still pay a day rate in which we think it is not fair.

Beautiful to see! For walkers recommend itinerary below
Sep 2019
We stayed in Brienz, which is not far from Giessbach but meant we could get the ferry over which was great fun and not expensive. This meant we had lovely views of the lake and then we could get the funicular up to hotel Giessbach to start the walk. It was a really nice way to start the walk. Depending on how far you want to go the walk can be very easy or very challenging, most people were walking up to the part where you can walk (safely) behind the waterfall, but the wife decided it would be a good idea to go all the way to the top which took about an hour to an hour and a half and was quite a slog. From there we walked all the way over to Iseltwald which was a long walk mostly downhill which hurt my old man knees but was nice nonetheless. Would recommend walking up to the top of the waterfall and heading back down again!

Impressive crashing into the lake.
Sep 2019 • Solo
I arrived just now on the paddle steamer from Interlaken to Brienz during a heavy rain storm/ now that’s an experience.

Anyway, I knew this was coming up and I was ready. The hotel at the top looks dreamlike as we approach and the Falls come crashing into the lake.

Foon.
