A Garden of National Significance - A large country garden sensitively contoured across a hillside in South Taranaki making the most of views to Mt Taranaki and inland views including the adjacent 400year old Puketarata Pa. Skilled blending of a diverse range of native and exotic plants is a particular focus through the various garden rooms creating a garden which sits well in the landscape. Visits by appointment please 06 278 3081 as I may be away. The Garden is open for the 10 days of the PowerCo Taranaki Garden Spectacular which is the first week of November.

amazing garden done with a lot of fore-thought, love and time. I especially love the fact that it is within the area of an ancient maori site that is still suprisingly giving up the odd artefact

Not just lovely trees, and beautiful flowers in delightful "garden rooms", but also the most wonderful views of Mount Taranaki and the surrounding hills and valleys and a welcoming, helpful host. Go see it!

Evan though I'm a local, Ive never heard of Puketarata before. Beautiful garden, hidden away. Very well cared for. Lovely bush area down the hill to explore too.

I have been to this garden several times and like to take visitors. The hosts are very welcoming and enjoy sharing their garden.they know their plants and share the information freely.

This garden was actually made up of several different gardens/areas with awesome views across farmland. Lush green combined with beautiful colours and established trees complimented the well thought-out plantings and combinations. Definitely the best garden we saw in the Festival this year in South Taranaki....More

What a wonderful garden we found. Well worth a visit and would have loved to spent longer there. Very peaceful. Great walk down into the gorge.
