As previous reviews said. You need a booking - ask your Japanese speaking friends to make it, no English spoken or written, this is more of a free tasting rather than a tour. If you don't know the area you will need a GPS.
Self guided factory tour is actually pretty neat. We did not have anyone who could speak/read Japanese so we didn't get as much out of it as we would have liked. We did ask when we arrived if they had any info in english, but...More
