Flowers Aplenty On A Hillslope
Oct 2019
We visited this attraction on 7 October 2019, after coming out from Farm Tomita. Both can be visited as they are but a short 15 minute walk apart.

While both attractions have similar flowers, Choei is smaller in the size area, is along a hillslope and is definitely quieter and less touristy and crowded. From the top of the hillslope, you can also catch a nice view of the town of Nakafurano.

Hence, it is a good place for phototaking and enjoying the varieties of flowers against a hillslope.

When we were there, the chair lift is not in operation. But you can simply walk up the hillslope and take pictures of the rows of flowers. While the lavender was not in season, there were other flower beds that offer an equally nice photo backdrop.

This place is closer to the Nakafurano train station as compared to Farm Tomita. Toilet facilities are available although there are no food stalls here. Suggest to visit both Tomita and Choei one after another if you have the time.

A poorer cousin to Tomita Farm
Jul 2019 • Couples
Seriously after Tomita , this really feel like the stepsister. Nevertheless, we enjoy the open ride up and down the slope. It must be quite spectacular during winter.

Chairlift ride
Jul 2019 • Family
This farm is not as big as the others, but still enjoyable as we can ride a chairlift and have a beautiful view of the city from uphill. The staff in nakafurano station gave each of us a 50% coupon discount, totally worth it!

Thank you for your comment. Please let me correct one thing. The coupon is 50JPY discount not 50%.

Less busy than Tomita, but just as impressive
Oct 2018 • Friends
We visited in early October - so the fields of flowers were past their best with only part of the field still having flora, but the slope makes for a very impressive location to appreciate the plants and views

Take the chairlift up!
Aug 2018 • Friends
Even though the lavender were gone by early August when we visited, we were surprised with the fantastic view from the top after taking the fun chairlift for 400¥ /adult. The patchwork farms of Furano lies before your eyes plus the strains of lovely Japanese ballads keep you in the most beautiful mood.

Few lavender
Aug 2018 • Friends
There were not many (fully bloom) lavender when we visited. Nice place to pop by on the way back to Asahikawa. It is much less crowded than Tomita Farm

Calm lavender farm in Furano
Jul 2017 • Solo
I visited Furano by bicycle during the peek of lavender period. If you want to escape from the herds of tourists of Tomita Farm and enjoy the flowers, Choei Lavender Farm is the best! Rope lift for few hundred yen, lavender ice cream, warm udon, melon, Sapporo beer, souvenir shop with handmade goods. I spent 2 hours there waiting for the rain to stop, drawing, charging my mobile and eating. The staff members were very friendly. Parking lot avaible.

Beautiful hillside covered with flowers, rope lift to the top gives a very good view
Aug 2017 • Couples
You can follow the purple marks on the side walk from the train station to hillside park, a pleasant walk. Most of the hillside is planted with Lavender but the bottom part of the hill has other flowers with a longer blooming life. The rope lift to the top is definitely worth it as you get a good view of the flowers on the hill and a great view of the hills/mountains in the distance. Once at the top there are trails off into a park. We visited in the first week of August and the lavender was past peak but still very pretty.

LAST FARM TOWARDS ASAHIKAWA
Aug 2017 • Family
This was one of the last farm we visited on the way back to Asahikawa. Its a less visited farm compared to Tomita but equally nice as it is located on a slope of a hill.

Definitely worth a stop if you pass by it.

Beauty within walking distance
Aug 2017 • Couples
Less than 10 minutes walk away from Naka Furano is Choei...a beautiful place with colourful flowers other than lavenders planted on its steep slope.

A chair lift takes visitors up the hill for a majestic view of this place as well as the town and district of Naka Furano.

I love the colouful flower beds more though.
