The Aletsch Arena resorts have much in common: being part of the Alps' first UNESCO World Heritage Site. The views of the imposing 400-metre Valais peaks. Their proximity to the Great Aletsch Glacier, the largest glacier in the Alps. And yet...more

We chose to view this magnificent glacier from Bettmerhorn viewpoint and that is how you can reach there. If you come by a car, paid parking is available at the base station (Bettentalstation). From here you take the cable car to reach Bettmeralp and then...More

If you want to get away from the bustle of urban life try this jewel of a Swiss mountaintop town, Riederalp, next to the grand Aletsch Arena glacier. Not far from Jungfrau. The town that legendary developer Art Furrer built. No cars. Few residents. But...More

Bigger and more impressive in person. The photos don't do it justice. Take a hike and enjoy it from all the angles.

This is a wonderful place. To see the glacier open up as you hike and being able to get on the glacier is great. Truly was one of the best hikes we ever did.

Imposing, gigantic, simply impressive. Actually difficult to describe the unique scenery of this area. You feel the cool, hear the cracking, though the glacier is melting at a fast pace.

Managed to get a great view from the Eggishorn viewpt. Wear sturdy shoes as it's a little rocky when walking around the area to get a close up view. Although it was foggy when we got up there, the clouds cleared for about 15mins and...More

Again we were lucky this time to see Aletsch Arena on top of Riederalp. The views were wonderful. Not many visitors found at sight because we were early at arrival. As such, we have time to go along the trek to take photos from different...More

A wonder of nature. So beautiful, so in danger of disappearing - it's already down to half its original size.
