Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Inestimable wine heritage, important labels from all Italian regions, it's a shame that no one guided us on this journey. The staff waved as we entered, continuing to do what they were doing, almost avoiding our gaze and a goodbye from afar as we were leaving. It's a shame because reading the other reviews we would have expected some explanation, indication or to hear the possibility of tasting and sampling something, also in view of probable purchases. Wonderful place, really sorry for these shortcomings... Such a treasure should be valued

We visited the winebank when staying in Albergo dell'Agenzia. The young guides, one for the general presentation and one for the wine tasting, were knowledgeable and friendly. The place itsefel was amazing: there were wines from all parts of Italy, mainly of course from Piemonte. A perfect place to learn more about Barolo, Barbaresco and the other wines.

I went to visit it with my family plus a bunch of friends.
It was a destination we planned to do on a quiet midweek afternoon.
The location is definitely charming and in a certain way unique.
To ruin that was an unskilled staff with a very surly customer service.
Superficial explanations and not able to talk in correct english.
The Bank of wine is the underside of the university of gastronomic sciences which is an international school that summons many students from many countries abroad.
I personally found it ridiculous that the staff is very unprepared on foreign languages, not even English.

We happened upon this cellar by chance after staying at the hotel in which it resides (albergo dell'agenzia). We were greeted by a lovely knowledgeable man who proceeded to give us a tour of their library like cellar of wine stretching as far as you could see under the palace above. After which he showed us not only a comprehensive map of the wine in the area but was knowledgable on the types of soils which promote an excellent grape, the regulation of wines in the area, the history and philosophy of wine and many other interesting ideas and facts that made the tasting one of the best we've ever come across.
If you have any interest in wine, history, argriculture, philosophy, anthropology or culture of Italy in general I would highly recommend taking a trip to visit la banca del vino. Helpful, informative and facinating!

The Banca del Vino is part of a large gastronomic complex that includes the cooking school of the l’Università degli Studi di Scienze Gastronomiche, the Albergo dell’Agenzia and the Ristorante Garden, adjacent to the Albergo. The complex is housed in the Casa Savoia, once the property of the Savoy royal family. It is listed on the UNESCO World Patrimony list. The Banca is an excellent enoteca with a large collection from all wine producing areas of Italy. It is a retail operation and wines are well-priced. There is a token entrance fee. Tasting is well organized.

Interesting concept – bring wines from all over Italy to one place where they can be studied, and enjoyed. I can see where it is a benefit to the Culinary school to have access to such a wide variety of wines for pairings.
The soil samples were interesting. Soil had a big impact of the grapes and the wines made from them.

When in Pollenzo, you should definitively pay a visit to this place and have a good wine tasting, It does not come very cheap, but the atmosphere and the quality are worth it. Even if you're not a wine expert, you'll enjoy this.

Going here without a guide is like going to a bank and look at money without being able to touch it or spend it. The location is nice but fades in comparison to what you can see when touring the strada del Barolo. If you are not a student here or if you havent booked a tour, tasting or workshop, my advice is skip this. If you have, the experience will probably be different.

I liked to see all the wines they had stored away, I just was sad that it didn't have a wider variety from Tuscany or southern Italy. Two thirds is full with mainly Piedmont and northern Italy. Plus, several of the wines they had in there included huge mass producers, I don't think Banfi or Cavit really deserve to be in the featured wines of Italy. It was nice to see the soil and learn a bit about the various vintages though. The vault is really chilly, so make sure to bring a jacket or warm sweater. And they sadly only have about 10 different wines that you can try after. But do try something and sit outside in the sun by the cantine at the university with the students.

We had the pleasure of attending a personal guided tour and wine tasting of the Banca del Vino. Our host was one of the students from the UniSG (Slow Food University Pollenzo - of which the Bank of Wine sits within it's grounds), he was passionate and very knowledgeable about the bank, the reason it exists, the traditions behind it, the passion and so on.
Even if you're not in the know about Slow Food or wine, I highly recommend this tour to understand more about what Slow food and the bank of wine are trying to achieve. Plus you get to try some wines :-)
