Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visited with my 8 year old son. We hadn’t done much mountain biking previous but really enjoyed the park, keeping mainly to the easy tracks. Signage was good and easy to understand.
Highly recommend.

Suitable for all levels. Although I fell off twice I’m sure others would be more on to it. Couldn’t find the easy rider which may have been the best option for me. Some younger guys we met up with couldn’t find it either so not just us. A great day out tho and worth the pain today.

A variety of trails for all abilities. Well maintained. A very enjoyable couple of rides. Full kudos to the volunteers who maintain the park.

We had a great time mountain biking with our 8 year old son. There are trails for people with a wide range ages and abilities.

My family of 4 decided we would hire bikes and ride the Mountain Bike Park trails.
The two who mountain bike regularly really enjoyed the Easy trails, finding the next level too difficult, while the two of us who are more occasional road bikers, found even the Easy trails with the tight corners and steep narrow paths were too much for us.

Partner and I had a fantastic morning exploring the green (easy) runs. Very well done park, had a fun morning of (free) mountain biking through beautiful native bush. From the entrance car /boat trailer park on Martin Rd it was a little tricky to find the start despite the big sign being right there, but after that the signage got easier and we basically just kept doing different little sections until we found ourselves back at the car. Partner especially was a little cautious. She has a good basic level of fitness and good general cycle confidence but not very experienced on a mtb, but she said she was ‘comfortably challenged’ and I (early 40s semi fit woman) also had a great time having lost my nerve after health problems in recent years and just getting it back. Credit to the locals who have created this park and made it so welcoming yet managing to be not dead boring for less technical riders. This is a combo that seems unbelievably hard to come by on the Christchurch Port Hills tracks where I’m local to. (As a guide for Christchurch people if you can do all of bottle lake tracks without freaking out you can do this easy.) Made my day which is saying something given it was a perfect weather summer day that was followed in the afternoon by an amazing beach swim just a short walk down the road- and a feijoa gelato :)

We rented bikes for 3 hours and hit the trails. Started with the easy path and then moved up the difficulty levels, going all the way up to the lookout point. It was quite challenging and we got a great workout and sweat out of our time. Really nice trails.

Many excellent tracks to choose from, with views if you would like to venture to the top. Easy tracks to chose from if you are starting out, great to build up that confidence. You don't need to bring your bike there are options of hiring from within the village.

went here with a big group and did the 2 hour bike ride. Some had electric bikes, others did it the old fashioned way.
Everyone had a good day and the bike tour was pretty well organised with pick ups etc. Would do it again if in town.

Rode most of the intermediate trails which are well designed to offer a range of experiences from flowy singletrack to more technical sections with tree roots, drop offs and jumps. Would have liked to try Corkscrew and Jaws but they were closed due to fire restrictions. Easy to ride 20 plus kms of varied trails.
