Sea Kayaking Abel Tasman National Park

Kaiteriteri Kayaks has been operating sea kayaking tours in the Abel Tasman National Park for nearly 20 years.

With every trip we ensure that: safety is a priority; everyone has a relaxed time in an enjoyable atmosphere, and the beautiful environment is respected. Our trips are about experienced guides and good times, not hard work. For lots of laughs join a trip with the locals!

Over 50 kilometres of coastline offers dozens of golden sand beaches to visit, while the many coves and lagoons provide plenty of interesting nooks and crannies to explore. Sea kayaking here also opens up a world of sea and bird life encounters with animals such as penguins, seals and dolphins. So all in all, you’ve got to say, it’s really not a bad spot!

Excellent day with Kaiteriteri Kayak Abel Tasman today led by by young Canadian working for the company by the name of Ashleigh G. An excellent experience lead by a gifted outdoors savvy young lady. She lead us through the preliminaries very professionally before we ventured out on to the water. Once on the water she guided us with ease to... More

Had a great time with the Heart of the Park trip. Water taxi to Abel Tasman, hiked 3-4 miles, lunch and a 3 hr kayak trip. Water taxi back to Kaiteriteri. Gabe, our kayak guide, was fantastic. Highly recommended.

We had an amazing day with our guide Dan. Explored 2 estuaries and a sea caveas well as seal observing at Tonga island. Dan gave us lots of interesting historical information and was a friendly and engaging guide. We couldn't have asked for a better day. Thank you Dan and Kaiteriteri Kayaks.

Great deal , we got a sit-on kayak and a stand up paddle board for NZ$50 for an hour. The bay was calm, tide was coming in, and we paddled all around and exploring near the rocks on either side. Staff was friendly and easy to deal with and helped patiently trying on kid-sized life jacket. Even kept our shirts... More

Great kajak tour with a lot of beautiful things to see on the way - seals, birds, lagoons, caves, beaches... Definitly a highlight: "sailing" with our kajaks across a bay!!! Very special! Small group, great guides, clean gear, nice lunch on a beach and cookie-time several times on the water. A perfect day, we will always remember! Special thanks to... More

Abel Tasman is a wonderful place to Kayak and Kaiteriteri Kayaks provides excellent kayaks and service. Ashley provided us with all of the equipment and the best safety briefing I have received in renting kayaks. The service is friendly with helpful hints on where to explore.
