Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Weather or no weather it is always good to be here on the beach. Sunny days are ok, rainy days are better and the best is stormy days. Just hanging in the wind and empty your brains.

One of my favorite beaches in the Netherlands. The beach is relatively clean. There's a great number of beach lounges and restaurants, from which you can rent a beach bed for a day.

A 20minute bus ride...buses are every 30 minutes ... takes you to Bloemendaal, a small section along the amazing long beach. You can walk along the beach to Zandvoort about 40 minutes, where there are more places to eat & drink, as well as hotels. Bloemendaal is nearby the National park where you can camp, bike, walk the nature trails, there is also an outdoor venue with concerts at certain times of the year. Even on a blustery day it makes a good side trip from Haarleem.

Loved spending some time on this beach, perfect for long walks, kids had a good time playing in sea and sand, quite a few options to eat here, nice mix of crowd. Some families flying kites adds an interesting touch, Bus 81 will take you right in front of the beach, the stop you want to get down is bloemendaal strand, and if you're navigating through google maps - search for bloemendaal aan zee

One of the best beaches in Netherlands in my perspective. Great place to hang out with friends, take a dip in the water, play beach volleyball etc. Also, the strand has amazing cafes with Woodstock being my personal favorite:). Must visit if you are visiting Amsterdam :D

It is a very beautiful beach. There are also several restaurants where you can relax. You can also use a shower in summer.
とてもきれいなビーチです。レストランも複数ありゆっくりできます。夏はシャワーも使えます。
Transportation is convenient and we get off the bus stop and the beach is in front of you.
交通も便利でバス停を降りて目の前が海岸です。

My 2nd visit in 2 weeks and I absolutely love it. Plenty of space, the beach is clean, same as the water. Many parking spaces. Bloemendaal aan zee is highly recommended! Enjoy your stay!

We are a family with a 10 year old. Catch the 10-15 min train from Haarlam and a short walk from the station takes you to the long sandy beach....the water is cold so no need to pack your bathers....but ohhhh, it looks like there are 3 miles of beach bars, restaurants and party places...all sitting on the beach. So after a cold beer (maybe 2) and a cheeky Rose wine, we were ready to apply the sunscreen. The kids took their shovels and buckets and proceed to build an architectural eyesore...but really, it was great fun. We spent the afternoon lounging, drinking, laughing and people watching....there are lots of signs letting you know that the last train is at 1am...the conclusion being that this place is not just for families but for those who like a beach party....oh yeah, we'll be back

We cycled from Haarlem and spent the day having fun in the sun. What a beautiful, unspoilt beach, packed full of happy folk. Wonderful restaurants with something for everyone. We'll definitely be back..

How it the weather in 1st week of March. Are the bars and beach clubs open?
Written 7 September 2018
I'm not sure as well. I think that most places at the beach are open from April on. March rarely has a weather good enough for people enjoying the coast in The Netherlands. But some restaurants might be open without their outside tables. you can always make sure via internet before traveling there or be prepared to enjoy the view of the beach and have a meal at a restaurant in one of the hotels in the area.

Yes it is! This year the weather was exceptionally hot and hence the water is also pretty warm for swimming. At low tide you need to walk a while before you can swim, because the water is pretty shallow at the beginning..
