This was our fourth visit, my wife’s Great Uncle John is buried here. It is a wonderful location and the monument id fabulous. Looking out at the 11,500+ graves it makes you think. Beautifully kept by the commonwealth war graves commission, the flower beds running...More

This was the first time we have visited one of the war cemeteries and were simply blown away by the enormity of the tragedy before us. Row after row of graves of unknown soldiers with so many of them in their teens or early twenties....More

I have traveled many war cemeteries from the bigger memorials to small graveyards tucked away in the middle of nowhere. Etaples is the biggest Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemetery in France. Please go there with respect. Walk among the headstones and reflect on why they...More

We went to visit the grave of my great great uncle. We, including my young children, were all moved by the scale of the place. Immaculately looked after by the CWGC it felt like a very special place to honour those, and their families, that...More

What an amazing place, very humbling. To think these people lost their lives so we can live in the world we live in today, it is kept pristine and is well worth a visit. R.I.P to all who gave their lives so we can live...More

We've been to Northern France many times for family holidays, but had never visited any of the war cemeteries, so when we realised this one was only five mins from where we were staying in Le Touquet, we decided to have a look. I'm so...More

What a moving experience. We thought that we would pay our respects 100 years on to all those that lost their lives fighting for our independence and freedom. This is a must for anybody that is in or around Le Touquet/Etaples.

We went to Étaples as my husband loves Lutyens. We had visited other cemeteries in France but this one was overwhelming. I spent an hour sobbing at the messages of love and loss carved on the stones, as shown in my title. Such pain, such...More

We were passing when we saw the cemetery. There is parking on both sides of the road. We entered through the small disabled entrance. The first impression is of the scale of the place, row upon row of gravestones. The CWGC do a fantastic job...More

I believe you can visit any time during day time hours. There is a lay-by outside where you can park. Just like any other military cemetery it is a very tranquil spot. Hope this helps.
