The view is just amazing. I would recommend a visit in the evening to see the sun go down. You'll learn about the historic background of the castle going back to the 12th century. Right next door you'll learn about archangel st. Michael and you...More

Not much of a castle, but worth it for the views over the countryside and towards the coast. One or two interesting rooms and some very low ceiling passageways, but not much else.

The town is well worth a visit. The views are spectacular! As are the winding streets and vistas of the older parts of the town. The castle / fort must be one of the most spectacular in Europe... well worth a visit . The usual...More

We visited this marvelous Norman fortress late in the day, so we saw it at dusk and under lights. It is a wonderful site - and it amazed us how they could build such a structure in this location, given the amount of rock it...More

The scenic drive and the views alone would make this a destination. Throw In that it has history from the 6th century and a dominating strategic fortress from the Crusades and the history buff in me is inflamed. As in many castles there is not...More

Worth a visit, we were here in September and there was a lack of interpretation - TV screens in place but not working and very little other information. However the stones do speak for themselves. It is worth an hour or so and it's not...More

Great Castle, a must see. The ride up is spectaculair, the town is lovely to visit. I had to go there being a history teacher, and it didn't disappoint me. Town and castle are not spoiled by tourists. Didn't find the Holy Grail though.

Loved exploring this castle which is very rich in history. It's history is well explained on information boards troughout the rooms. The view from all sides of the castle's walls is spectacular.
