If you have to stay at a hotel near Heathrow, this is a great place to run. There are lots of trails. It was about a mile from the Holiday Inn.

This area is outstanding and wonderful to have bad weather footpaths. All the people we have met have friendly dogs. Plenty of places to find solitude. Plenty of benches. Plenty of parking but the width restrictions are a challenge.

Unfortunately there is not a walk to the moor avoiding roads- it is about 2 miles walk. there does not seem to be a bus which goes straight to the moor. It is accessible to me as I work for British Airways which adjoins... More

For future reference there are several busses from T5 that go to the area around the Sheraton hotel in about 15 minutes. Check Google maps from T5 stand 8. The village behind the Sheraton has a couple of nice pubs too
