Ehrenburg castle was erected around 1125 and destroyed by the French army in 1689. Plus one : The fortress has a highly original layout, boasting a mighty fifteenth century ramp tower and a looming fourteenth century twin towered keep. Plus two : Even in this...More

Ehrenburg Castle is really amazing, we have been many times, it’s a short walk from the carpark. The guided tour is great and informative. Can highly recommend it.

This medieval castle towers over a deep valley with stunning views from the twin towers, after a healthy climb. Technically it's a ruin, but there is enough of it left to convey the feeling of an actual castle. The Sunday special entertainment certainly makes for...More

That is correct. You have to walk up. And up, and up. Having driven by it many times, it enchanted us; the castle lit up at night is especially beautiful. We only visited Ehrenburg Castle (and the suspension bridge! Do it!) and read all the...More

The entry fees to visit the castle is really affordable (3,50 to 4,50 per person). It is a total experience. We (a group of trail riders) stayed overnight and had dinner at this Hotel. The food was excellent and the staff was very accommodating to...More

A tourist trap, a ruin and too expensive to bother exercising the imagination on. Perhaps the decaying hike up through the increasingly unkempt English garden landscaping says it all
