Happened to detour via Otaki Beach and stumbled across this amazing artitst creative space. Let me elaborate. The area is a performance/events/gallery space behind a shopfront in Main Street. An amazing expose of collective artists brilliance. There is variety in the items on display and available for purchase. From jewellery (really unique, quality pieces made from greenstone, wood, natural fibres, etc) to carvings, woven bags, unique New Zealand printed t shirts, prints (using woodblocks), paintings, sculptures, and many more. We were impressed with every piece we saw. All items demonstrated great skill by the artist. Could have purchased so much more. Loved the customer service and enthusiasm shown by the staff - special shoutout to Clara who knew details of the artist responsible for most of the pieces in the shop. She was able to recount stories and meanings of the items. Strongly recommend visiting. Has the wow factor if you are interested in authentic products, even if you just want to browse (there was never any pressure to purchase). Thanks for making our day with this memorable experience.
