Step into the Ladby Ship grave - Denmark's only Viking ship grave - and walk around the ship, where a Viking king in the early 900's was sent off on his last journey. See an exhibition about the ship and the ship grave, and follow along in the building of the full-size Ladby Ship and the sewing of the Ladby Tapestry.

Very fine dissemination of the history of the Ladby ship. Especially the preservation of the Viking ship's imprint in the original excavation in the burial mound is impressive. Beautiful surroundings too.

We visited here on the recommendation of our bed and breakfast hosts. The museum was very interesting and the boat itself (a short walk from the museum) was fascinating. We also liked the true to life boat reconstruction. A lovely place to visit.

This is a very enjoyable small museum. The museum building houses a good variety of Viking information and discusses the likely reasons for the burial site. The burial site is very well preserved and the presentation was well tied in with the museum. A nice...More

There are 2 levels with different rooms, where you can see many artifacts from the Viking period, with a lot of explanations (Danish/English/German). Also there are some helmets/shields that can be tried for pictures which are a nice idea. Outside there is a ship, which...More

We love everything to do with the Vikings and the chance to see a Viking ship still in its original burial mound was not to be missed! I won't go too much into the historical aspects of this mazing museum - other to say that...More

We decided to stop off here on the drive between Copenhagen and Billund. It turned out to be a fantastic little stop off for the whole family. Our children - 5 and 3 - loved the ride in the Viking boat truck down to the...More

Don't expect a lot, yet what it has is good. It's not a complete ship but the impression of one that has decayed. The grave goods are gone, but remnants of the horses and dogs bones are there as well as other items. The museum...More

Amazing, breathtaking, moving. This was such a worthy off the beaten path site to see. The history of the only Viking burial ship, which is displayed expertly in the same place it was discovered, brings an extra atmosphere and a feel of living history rarely...More
