Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A spot that is definitely worth spending a few hours at. Stopped off here on the last Thursday of August. Nowhere near as crowded as we expected based on other reviews. The cave is easily accessible from the rocky beach: just a couple of literally 5 second swims to reach the inner cave which was amazingly lit from the outside sunlight. There is a a kiosk and great patisserie/gelateria nearby. Agree though that more regular cleaning of the rocks area to remove the many discarded cigarettes would be a good idea!

Such a beautiful spot :) visited while staying at Tenuta Linazza on a Puglia “tour”.

Bring goggles if you can or better yet snorkel mask - water is very clear.

Always enjoy threading our way into the green cave. It is stunning and the water so clean. Still see cigarette ends discarded on the rocks which is a shame.

We were headed back North to our hotel from Marina Serra (awesome!) and looked on trip advisor for something else to see. La Grotta Verde was very close so we decided to go. Tons of parking around it and all sorts of other stuff...seemed a little touristy. But we were there in the off season so not many people. We walked down to the cave which was really easy, figured out where we wanted to enter the water, and saw the water lit up on the other side of a big rock. We got really excited and worked our way over there. We climbed on top of the rock expecting and incredibly picturesque scene... and all we saw was TRASH!! The entire cave was filled with the trash...styrofoam, plateaux bottles, all sorts of other stuff. I hope it washed in there naturally...but wow what a buzz kill.

We still managed to get a picture of about 10' at the beginning without trash to capture the moment. Worth it but disappointing!

Brilliant swimming - especially if you carefully find your way into the cave. The fish around the entrance mean that a snorkel and mask are worth having with you.

Recommended as a local swim, and so glad we went. Do take snorkels and masks there were so many fish outside the cave. Listening to people's voices we followed in the dark to the cave itself. Glad we explored as it is enchanting. All being well we will be back this year

We saw a sign for Grotta Verde and stopped on a whim for a quick swim not really even realizing there was a cave but when we were in the water we saw a few people messing around at the mouth of the cave so we followed them in and we were so glad we did, was one of the highlights of our trip and very easy to get to - no need to rent boats etc. Just a few metres swim from the rocky shore, into the cave (water not deep, we were walking most of the way from the entrance of the cave), bit of a narrow corridor in the rocks and then out into the cave where the water glows a brilliant blue-green. Bliss.

La Grotta Verde is easily accessible. Parking is available in the lot adjacent to the rocks which are used to sunbathe. To access the cave, simply walk to the bottom of the rocks, walk along the edge, of the water, go through the cave and you will see the entrance. At this point, you must get into the water and swim through a narrow channel to enter the grotto. It is not difficult. You will be rewarded with a stunning blue- green view. The water is calm and perfect for a quick swim. Unfortunately, it did contain quite a bit of washed up litter. Apparently, the amount of litter depends on the tides. However, it is still worth the visit if you are in the area.
