We just visited the permanent collection and it was very good. Several Rodin pieces and many lesser known, but beautiful, paintings from Europe. Visited with kids and they enjoyed the collection. We spent about one-hour - but art lovers could easily spend twice as long....More

This is one of the best collections of European art I have seen outside of Europe. With works by Van Gogh, Rodin, many Monets, Degas, etc. my favourite and never seen before was a Rubens of two small children sleeping surprisingly covered up, just delightful.

When I was there, there was also an exhibition from Prado Madrid with work from Velasquez and other artist from this period. I regret having done this because it's a big exhibition so it takes some time and after that you still have to visit...More

The collection here is really a treat! It is not the greatest museum we have ever experienced, but it is very good. If you have limited time, make certain you go here first--there is too much to see here, and all of it is very...More

This is a fine art museum with some very nice impressionist paintings and Renoir sculptures. An added bonus thru May 27, 2018 is an exhibit from the Prado.

Definitely worth a visit if you are at all interested in art. This museum houses a decent sized collection of western art. In my mind an ideal size - big enough to satisfy and make it worth it but not so big that you get...More

Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old
Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa.
Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit
a variety of different museums and galleries. At
Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the
grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed
alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at
the end of the year, when many people go on shopping
