The park was very small, but very beautiful with Someiyoshino sakura in full bloom. Someiyoshino-sakura was born through natural hybridisation between Oshima-zakura and Edo-higan-zakura. So both trees had been planted in the park, although they didn’t look impressive as Someiyoshino.

This small park is situated near JR Komagome Station. During the Edo Period (1603 - 1868) this area was called Somei Village where many skilful gardeners lived and created hybrid plants and trees. Someiyoshino Cherry Tree was one of them. Since then, Someiyoshino Cherry Trees...More
