This is a small but perfectly formed shrine in the park - was great atmosphere here as festival and parade were on which had a great atmosphere.

A very small shrine next to a park in the heart of Shinjuku. it is a nice surprise to find something green and quiet in an area surrounded by tall sky-scrapers.

Found this place by accident while strolling through the lovely park. This little area was immaculate and frankly at just gorgeous .. Such gorgeous statues, little water features and shrine.. I just loved this peaceful place..

Shinjuku Chuo Park is a pleasant spot in busy Shinjuku. The Kumano Shrine is a peaceful spot within the park. If you are lucky you might see a wedding or other ceremony taking place..

In all my visits to Asian countries, which are very many, I always like to visit local temples/shrines and as a Westerner I find this interesting and informative and always find that I can gain an insight into the local religious culture. Not so here..........More

We visited at lunchtime while waiting for our room at the Hilton to be ready. It's in a quiet corner and the visitors seemed to be locals offering prayers. Interesting 3 gongs to call the spirits. Adjacent is a building containing lots of mobile shrines...More
