Great place to visit if you love to eat fresh fish or sushi. Choose from a variety of welcoming shops and restaurants. Fish is also sold in this market but be sure to arrive early as the best fish tends to sell out early in the morning.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Central Wholesale Market, is commonly known as the Tsukiji Fish Marke. Government regulation prohibit tourists from watching the tuna actions in the early morning. It was fun to explore the area around the auctions in the Jogai open-air market, and wander among...More

You can buy lots of different things here but be careful and know our prices as I found some trinkets over priced compared to what we paid elsewhere in Tokyo

Tsukiji is a huge place, the inner markets are fascinating to walk through and see all the fish still left after the morning rush, the outer markets are crowded but have many food stores and places to buy china and household goods. This place is...More

Definitely do your research before coming so you know exactly where to go. The inner market was packed and everyone there was merely wandering and observing. I enjoyed the outer market more since there were more things to see and eat. For someone who doesn't...More

The outer market is local shops that sell everything, but more seafood than anything. It's a bustling place and covers a large area. The inner market is the largest fish market in the world. This is where the fancy sushi chefs buy fresh seafood for...More

It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll
while the road is closed to traffic. Luxury hotels,
