The gardens of the Imperial Palace provide a green space in the center of the busy city, and link to what was the SHogun;s castle before the Meiji Restoration of 1868. Parts of the castle can still be viewed, including gates and small guard towers,...More

These are the freely accessible gardens outside the Imperial grounds. It's a great area for picnicking under manicured trees and overlooking a variety of flowering plants and water features.

Enjoy the water fountains, restaurant facing it or just relax in the park, in the middle of Tokyo. It is a little oasis where you can sit and relax. For more on Tokyo, visit "hiddenjapanguide".

You have to past through this beautiful garden to see the Ni-ju bashi 2 tiered bridge and Imperial Palace. The trees are beautifully manicured. We were there during cherry blossom time and there were a few cherry blossom trees.

The Imperial gardens were closed due to a holiday but I had my picnic here in the area. You can see the palace in the distance and Nijubashi bridge.

Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi
Ginza is famous for being a trendy hotspot, but it's
also a downtown area with shops that were founded over
a hundred years ago. Department stores and luxury
boutiques line the route from Nihonbashi to Ginza.
It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll
while the road is closed to traffic. Luxury hotels,
world class cuisine from talented chefs, and a
collection of glitzy clubs will make this area popular
