We have visited Towada Shrine by late Oct. As we arrived late that day, the surrounding area was dark but we still managed to go up the flight of stairs to view the timber shrine before sunset. It was worth to visit the shrine.

One of the few 'attractions' in this unspoiled area. A pleasant walk or bike ride out round the lake. Close to the Maidens statue.
