This is an incredibly beautiful beach which is being ruined by pollution. The beach is overly crowded and the water is dirty from all of the petrol from the many boat taxis which float just offshore, and a staggering amount of litter coming from the bars and restaurants on the beach. I tried to swim but there was too much garbage floating in the water including lots of cigarettes and a variety of plastics. Brazil - you are allowing your natural treasures to be ruined. It’s a shameful situation. Brazil has such a wealth of natural beauty and there need to be more education in this country on conversation and the environment as well as more regulations and protections for nature.…

We went very early in the morning, incredible beach. Probably more crowded later but I don’t imagine it will be as bad as Copacabana. The clear, calm water is to die for. We got a coconut and sat down in chairs with an umbrella with pretty much no one around at 7-9am. Getting to the beach is only by walking, the hike is not difficult but you do walk over a hill so you will feel hot! …
