At an hour from Waitangi this is an easily accessible truely, world class experience that I highly recommend.

Over 2x half days, 3 friends and I first explored the Hokianga harbour, with Lenny teaching us the local history including showing us the location of Kupe's first footprints through to Bishop Pompallier final resting place. After a bit of splashing, speed and wave jumping, Lenny and Antoinette treated us to local kaimoana, smoked snapper and steak. We talked late into the night, and staying in their well appointed self contained apartment - a brilliant afternoon and evening.

Originally scheduled for an early departure in the morning, on a whim we joined Lenny with another group on a Kaimoana experience. Picking mussels and pipis straight from the sea bed and even trying a few raw was brilliant.

We will definitely be back, as the we have heard that the quad bike experience over dunes and through sand canyons, that I didn't even know existed in NZ, has to be experienced to be believed, plus we hear that Lenny's guitar playing is legendary too.

Although you can jetski and quad bike in tonnes of places in NZ, these guys have combined the adventure sports with history and hospitality in a unique way. Bringing out what is unique about the Hokianga and sharing it with us.

Truely in awe of what they do and couldn't recommend it more highly

I have been living in NZ now for 27 years and when family finally decided to come and see this part of the world we picked a few of our favourite places a tourist should never miss. This trip in Opononi was one of the greatest highlights for me and our family. We stayed up the road at a typical Kiwi bach organised by Lenny and Antoinette. They took care of us for 2 full action packed days. The weather wasn't amazing the first day a bit windy but that didn't bother us and Lenny still took us out fishing in the harbour. We caught some great fish that Lenny smoked for part of our dinner. If I could rate this team higher than excellent I would. We did a full food package for each day and we were treated like Kings. The food was outstanding and so much available (one in our group had special dietary needs Vegan and GF but could eat fish) They accommodated us very well. The next day was the day we will remember for every as one of the best days in our lives. We did the quad bike experience over the sand dunes. If was a full day experience with history stories told with passion from Lenny and time to blast on the beach as well as see what could only be described like another planet when we hit the dunes. The natural canyons in the sand dunes were a bit terrify but incredible! Our own mini Grand Canyons! The last morning my son managed to get in a jetski with Lenny one on one and even did some sand surfing into the water at a stop over! The best time ever! It was so amazing we sent our daughter and mother-in-law a keen historian to visit them a couple weeks later as they missed out on the tour! Serious fun, great history and inspiring scenery right at our doorstep (well 4 hours from home). This needs to be on every tourists must do list!!!!

we had a family function in Omapere on the Saturday afternoon.
8 adults and 6 kids arrived on Friday night . Lenny had just been fishing and we were treated top a massive feed of snapper and mussels after downing a few beers .

Saturday Morning Antoinette & Lenny cooked a massive breakfast then Lenny took the kids and some of the adults jet skiing around the fabulous harbour.

Didnt have too much time so on Sunday all of us went out on the harbour and went over to the sand dunes and the kids went on the biscuit and boogie boarded down the dunes.

Overall the weekend was a magical experience and we cannot thank Antionette and Lenny enough for their hospitality .

Antoinette and Lenny are amazing! From the short notice organizing of a Kaimoana tour through to the execution of the actual Jetski tour it has been a pleasure. Lenny has an amazing amount of knowledge and insight into the area and a great and fun way of guiding the tour. Fishing for mussels and pippies (whilst originally very cold waters ☺) has been one of my favourite experiences to date and matched with the fun of riding a jetski around the bay and and ocean was fantastic. Cannot recommend this enough ! Thank you again for an amazing experience!!

Awesome Adventures Hokianga exceeded our expectations and really was an awesome adventure, it quickly became the trip of a lifetime for us three siblings in our 60’s.

Fantastic hospitality from our hosts, the legendary Lenny and Antionette. His stories of Maori lore and history of around the magnificent Hokianga were second to none.

Adventures on water and land- from fishing to jet skiing, sand buggies to delicious food over fire, guitar strumming and starry nights.
Outstanding was the experience on sand buggies- up to the top of mighty sand dunes to another world, the landscape sculpted by the elements, were we in Arizona?! Then zooming along the endless sands of the west coast - wow!

The adventure conjured up memories of our childhood and the sheer variety of this special place, our land Aotearoa.

Thank you both for this wonderful experience...
Tilly and Brian from New Zealand and Jocie from Iceland!
Memories we will be talking about for a long time to come.

I have visited AAH 3-4 times now. Every time has been worth the 2 hour drive from Whangarei.

I had a memorable Jet Ski Safari last weekend. The group I went with and I got a variety of perks form the experience... history of the area, time exploring the harbour, nearby sand dunes, a relaxing stop in a small town cafe in Kohekohe, and of course a lot of fun in the water. It was great value for the cost. I plan on continuing to visit them for years to come.

Fun for all ages. First time on a jet ski in my 50s. A group of us were whizzed up the harbour to Horeke and back again for a swim at the sand dunes. Had a fabulous time and suddenly found my sea legs and childhood love of the sea again. Len and Anton are fantastic, friendly and relaxed hosts who give you plenty of confidence - just listen to instructions and you can't go wrong! I had a fantastic time on the SeaDoo and felt young again as I whizzed about on the water like I used to as a kid. Don't forget the sunscreen!!!

Far exceeded any expectations I had prior to going to the Hokianga. We were there for work, Antonette and Lenny made the effort to make sure we were all having a good time and really enjoying our stay. Food, entertainment, hospitality, 10/10 can't wait to return!

Travelling our own backyard over the long weekend and stumbled upon an absolute beauty of a spot. Antoinette and Len were extremely helpful on setting us up for a bit of an adventure around the dunes. Very knowledgeable and friendly and they have everything at their fingertips for whatever kind of activity your after for the day. Highly recommend and will be back again.
