Interested to see these boulders as we come from Otago, home of the Moeraki boulders. They are quite different but are similar in some ways too. Good stroll along the beach and great views.

This was a great, free fun activity for our family, even in winter. We needed to be prepared to get our shoes dirty, but it was all good. The i-site lady and the signage said that the lower the tide the better and the further...More

These are just like the Mouraki boulders in the south island. Easy to access only 5 min down the beach from the car park. Visit 2 hours either side of low tide. Really awesome, well worth a visit.

Kids loved jumping on the boulders. Lots of fun. Spent at least two hours walking on the beach and boulder jumping. Must walk all the way to the end of the beach for the best boulders

Be warned, the mud is very cement-like in places, you want to wear your oldest shoes, and its a bit of a walk from the carpark!

This was a riveting walk along the beach The boulders are surreal with the way nature has shaped the rocks into unique shapes.

It's definitely recommend to come here at low tide, but if your like us and passing through it's difficult to plan your trip around the tide. It had just been high tide and it was raining our feet got wet and a bit muddy but...More

Travelled the full loop road to get to the boulders only to find that the tide was wrong - never the less a pleasant drive on winding metal road
