Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited Villa Piccolo on the occasion of our 30th wedding anniversary, upon arrival Valeria our guide welcomed us and with precision and meticulousness immersed us in the history of the Piccolo family... she showed us the various paintings among the such as the portraits of the owners of the villa, Baroness Teresa Mastrogiovanni Tasca Filangeri di Cutò and her three children Agata, Casimiro and Lucio; the precious collections of porcelain and various furnishings, the very heavy chest, the rifle cases, books etc.
The rooms of the three brothers and their cousin Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa, (author of The Leopard) who was often a guest at their home.
On the ground floor there is also the evocative collection of "magic watercolours" painted by Casimiro Piccolo.
Outside a beautiful garden with magical water lilies, the long avenue of wisteria, scattered around here and there are also some paintings by Casimiro in which his "friends" are depicted, the magical elves, elves, gnomes and fairies, who according to him, they lived in the forest-garden of the villa. Finally, there is also a cemetery of small dogs and cats, friends of the Piccolos.
A truly unforgettable experience especially thanks to the excellent guide Valeria, whose passion for her work can also be perceived from the emotion that shines through in her gaze. Thanks for all!

It is a place to see: to deepen your knowledge of the Sicily of yesterday; to deepen your understanding of Sicily (and Italy) today.
The place is also poetic. The staff (among others, Mrs. Valeria) is adequately trained and talented. It seems to me that economic support and advertising support from the institutions would be urgently needed

The Villa is a charming home. Tomasi di Lampedusa, cousin of the hosts, often stayed there. There he wrote the most beautiful parts of the Leopard. Our Guide Valeria transmitted to us with professionalism and great passion the secrets of Villa Piccolo. A Visit that I Recommendation to all lovers of literature and beyond.

Villa Piccolo is well worth a visit. It has many treasurers which are very much undervalued. The British Museum would love to have them!

Valeria was a very knowledgeable and helpful guide. She stayed late and made special arrangements for me. The villa is interesting because it shows the lifestyle of the nobile class as it was fading from prominence in Sicily, during the unification of Italy. This phenomenon was brilliantly documented in Giuseppe Lampedusa’s novel “The Leopard”. Lampedusa was actually related to the owners of the villa, and significant parts of the novel were written there. So a seminal place in Sicilian history. Also a nice place to visit for its views of the sea and interesting gardens

A Sicilian noble residence, full of history and stories, exciting for the beauty of the place, the wonder of the precious objects present, the charm from past presences of which you can feel the signs.
Beautiful garden with some botanical rarities, moving the small and beloved cemetery of the family dogs and cats, beautiful and intriguing exhibition dedicated to Casimiro Piccolo (Casimiroteca) rich in the multifaceted artistic aspects of this original Sicilian artist in life and production but little known.
Tangible the presence of his cousin Tomasi of Lampedusa, who felt at home here and wrote pages of his books here and here was inspired.
Valuable guided tour, managed by Valeria with grace, irony and knowledge.
A magical place, absolutely worth visiting.

Interesting watercolors. The villa is worth a visit. The guide should learn more about white magic and esotericism. I can't believe they charge tour guides or journalists.
