    Excellent Views
Excellent views. Cool cable ride up and down the mountain, but it goes very quickly. An hour was sufficient for me. I was excited to spot the cute dassies on the rocks. Be sure to check if it is open on their home page if the weather is inclement or windy. BTW...it was cold on top mid July.

Most spectacular views of Cape Town
4 hiked up and 2 took the cable car. Hike was challenging. Views at the top were amazing. Advice before we went were to go to the top the first nice day during your trip. We had 3 beautiful days and two rainy/cloudy/couldn't see the top of Table mountain days. Luckily we went on the nice days. My son arrived later and never did get to the top.

Leave enough time to do this
Please please please leave enough time to visit this and go at the drop of a hat as soon as you can to see the mountain. We went up about 3pm but only had about an hour before the cable car closed. The views were spectacular (lots of inverted clouds). We went up the following day as it was clear sunny skies but it was closed due to imminent high winds. We basically only had one chance out of 4 days and I so wish we’d gone up earlier to make the most of it. There’s a walk you can do and also a restaurant and spectacular views.

    Can be a long queue
This is a must when visiting Cape Town, but in busy periods be prepared for a long wait for the cable car. We went while it was relatively quiet and waited 1/2 hr in line. We had bought our tickets on line, to save time. If you are pushed for time I would advise purchasing the fast track ticket, as the queue was much, much longer for the ascent when we were leaving There are ample photo opportunities, and grandiose views. Keep your eyes peeled for the rock daccies

    Spectacular Breathtaking View
The view from table mountain was spectacular and breathtaking. There is a rocky trail which allows you to walk the whole circumference of table mountain. We spent a total of 2 hours including the cable car ride.

    Unforgettable!
We waited for a clear day to hike Table Mountain during our stay and it was worth the wait, the views were AMAZING! We did the hike up as a couple on our own and felt totally safe and met lots of other hikers. We took the Platteklip path and it took about 2 hours on the way up (we got the cable car down).

    Glorious views
Take the cable car for 360 degree views (there is a rotating floor). We spent about a hour wandering around the top, with views over Cape Town and Camps Bay. There is a rocky path, fine with trainers. Recommended

    Allow plenty of time
The organisation makes things run smoothly. As a must see sight there was inevitably a queue, but shade was provided and once at the top it feels spacious. The views were worth it and the food served in the 1067 cafe was very good. All staff were friendly and helpful.

Great views, great walks on Table Mountain, but beware the winds!
There are unofficial websites offering cableway tickets up Table Mountain at exorbitant prices. Avoid these. Just use tablemountain.net for everything you need. Importantly, the top masthead of the website tells you whether the cableway is running or suspended due to the weather or wind conditions. And it gives an estimate of the queue time for the cable cars, assuming you already have tickets. Except for the busiest periods, the wait is only 5 minutes to a maximum of 30 minutes in both directions. So it's mostly unnecessary to splurge for the expensive "fast track" tickets. When we went, there was only a 5-minute wait for the next cable car. The views were tremendous, and with the floor of the car rotating 360 degrees during the ride, everyone had a view. At the top, we enjoyed a warm, sunny day, but the wind was a bit chilly. We embarked on the 45-minute walk around the top, turning around at the ravine that led to the next peak. The views on both sides were spectacular, Cape Town on one side and Camps Bay on the other. We were hoping to see Dassies, the cute rodent creatures that inhabit the mountain top, but we didn't see any. There were a number of colourful lizards, however. When we were ready to descend, the cableway was suspended due to high winds! We stood in a queue for an hour, inching our way forward in a chilly wind that made us glad we brought our windbreakers up, even though we didn't need them until now. An announcement went out on the tannoy throughout the mountain top, telling everyone to make their way to the station to take the last few cars down. This was followed by what sounded like an air-raid siren! My daughter said it was rather "panic inducing"! Eventually we were in a cable car going down. If we had paid for "fast track" tickets, with the suspension, we would still be in the same queue as everyone else, so we were glad we didn't bother. All in all, it was an excellent trip up to Table Mountain. And we were fortunate to make it down the last few cars when the service was suspended. I wondered if they ever left people up there either overnight, or to walk the long walk down, if the cable cars were completely stopped due to the weather. And the next day, due to the winds, the cableway was not operating at all, so we were fortunate to have picked the day we did, as we wouldn't have had the flexibility to go up another day.

We caught the cable car up to the mountain not knowing what to expect as it was pretty much covered in fog. The cable car was operating however, and when we reached d the top. The views were magnificent! Clouds were coming and going and added to the scenic quality.

Amazing views from the top. I highly recommend this activity. The cable car makes getting to the top quick and easy. If you’d prefer to hike, you can do that too.

Went early in the morning as the sky was clear and we wanted to take advantage of the cloudless sky. Glad we did as the mountain was covered in clouds in the afternoon.
The cable cars had rotating floors as to give panoramic views while going up and down. Hiking up is possible, but takes several hours.

When on top, there are 2 trails, commanding views ( clear day), option to bungee jump, gift shop and place to eat.

Absolutely worthwhile to visit! Crowds start early (say 8:30 AM?) so plan carefully. The view is amazing and there is substantial space at the top to wander about. With the wait time to go up, probably the shortest time you’ll spend is an hour. Expect 1-2 hours average. Bathrooms and awesome gift shop at the top. Not all areas are easy for mobility-limited travelers, but the best panoramas are from relatively flat spaces at the top. Excellent pathways to wander about, see the 360 view of Cape Town and surrounding areas, and educational placards available to note the unique plants along the way.
