Well worth a visit, interesting rooms and beautiful gardens at this time of year. It is a long walk up from the car park but if you have mobility problems then make use of the mini bus. More could be done with the dungeon but...More

As we live fairly nearby, we often go for a walk in the gardens or in the woodland. Whatever time of year there is something different to look at. Spectacular views from the garden over the surrounding countryside over the haha.

Cold bank holiday but a wonderful site to visit. The walk up to the Castle is steep, so good shoes and good health is essential.

The structure and design of the castle is really impressive, the rooms on view are fully funrished with fascinating wall and ceiling decoration and the castle has a great dark and dank dungeon. Pity the French prisioners whe were held prisoner in that dungeon.

Chirk Castle is a beautiful castle within some very beautiful gardens. It was a huge place inside the castle and plenty to see and historical information. The gardens were huge and able to have picnics and plenty of space to run around.

As long time NT members we were very disappointed with the lack of information to help set the historical context.

all the signs said castle and gardens together and there was a staff near the main castle entrance checking tickets once you walked up the path/road way. I don’t believe you can separate the gardens from the castle entrance... More
