We were on a very long narrow boat we had hired, and went very slowly across the aqueduct. We had brilliant views between the arches of the viaduct next to the aqueduct. The viaduct is somewhat higher than where we were but it was alovely...More

Impressive structure as is the concomitant viaduct. Lovely views from the path. The photo looks back towards the tunnel mouth which is also impressive. If your in the area the stroll along the towpath from Chirk is very pretty and if you continue along the...More

If you study you can find limited free parking right next to the canal just above The Bridge Pub. The area is very clean and very nice. Mostly level terrain and a much easier/"less stressful" walk across the Aqueduct than the other more famous one...More

We thoroughly enjoyed this experience and the kids loved it too. From the aqueduct to the tunnel they loved travelling along it on the canal boat. A must do.

Hi, sorry can't help you with the 45 min boat ride ticket, but, if you contact the Llangollen Tourist Information I'm sure they can point you in the right direction. Thanks for asking, CW

Sadly NOT at Chirk ( only if you hitch a ride ) but the LLangollen Viaduct does trips across that Viaduct from Trevor side you can walk across and ride a barge back ..

There is a cafe very close to both the chirk tunnel and aquaduct that has free parking for the walk and is lovely to pop in for a cuppa. It's just across the road from the aquaduct and tunnel.
