Great team of friendly helpful people. Quiet lovely mannered horses. My daughter, who is a nervous rider, soon relaxed and enjoyed herself on this leisurely ride along the river flats. As an experienced rider myself, there were opportunities to go a little faster in places which was good. It was a nice balance for mixed rider abilities. A great way to see some beautiful countryside. I recommend this place. I would like to return again and do a back country ride in the summertime.

We had such a blast today and it was by far the best horse trek we've done, even the best activity we've done since being in Queenstown. The views and scenes were stunning! We got to trek over rocks, multiple river crossings, the bush.. very well worth the money. Our guide Anna was very knowledgeable, patient and friendly. Big ups to you for diving into the river and retrieving my phone.. yes I was "that person" but the phone is still alive haha. Thanks for the amazing experience!

We really enjoyed our ride with Amanda! Such a cool route with lots of different scenery. We are experienced riders and our horses were so well behaved in walk, trot and canter. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a fun horsey experience in the Queenstown area. Lovely staff at the base too, thanks guys!

The most unbelievable day. First time riding experience for us both and we couldn't have felt more at ease. The horses are beautiful and so calm natured, which certainly helped my nerves. The scenery was picture perfect - no photos could do it justice. Our guide was really great, very knowledgeable and easy going. Would definitely recommend!

Fantastic riding experience in some of New Zealands most beautiful scenery, the journey getting to Glenorchy from Queenstown is truly breath taking and completely unspoilt, we are indeed very lucky to be able to experience horse riding in such fantastic countryside ( Covid free). The team at High Country Horses were excellent catering to everybodies level of riding ability, great guides (thanks Jole) the horses were extremely well looked after so if you haven't ridden before or for a very long time (like us) it's the perfect time to get out there before the rest of world comes back and jams up the works in our beautiful countryside😉👌👍thank you. 👏
