There were 4 of us that signed up for the Rees River Valley ride (newbie to some experience). Communication pre-trip was prompt. They provide helmets and boots - wear long pants and sunscreen. You can bring a small camera to have in a saddle bag. The horses were geared up and ready when we arrived and looked to be well... More

My wife and I together with friends and family have just experienced a wonderful 2 days on the overnight trek with our 2 super guides Shawn and Randy. We were of variable riding skill levels. Ranging from the experienced to me who qualifies as a near novice. The team at HCH matched us superbly with the appropriate horses but a... More

As an experienced rider, I was afraid of getting on an old and tired horse. Not at all. Snoopy was a safe , yet very "alive and kicking ". The landscape was amazing and Ruth, our guide, couldn't be more sweet and fun. If you don't have boots, they will provide you rubber boots and a helmet. The horses are... More

What a fabulous 2 day trek around and on Mt Alfred in March 2017. Four friends and a fun guide (Ruth) had a great time in near perfect trekking weather on well matched horses. The intro at the stables was thorough and Ruth was very knowledgeable about the area as we trekked. The food was fantastic and with 2 of... More

We had a fun time. Amy our 4x4 tour guide was very informative and great personality. She paid to details to get us suited up for the trip.

The Around the Mountain ride was amazing. The scenery was impeccable and our guide, Jess, was fantastic - friendly, knowledgable, helpful, and clearly loves her job. The hut is adorable and the food provided was delicious. I didn't want the 2 days to end and would definitely go on another trek with HCH.

Thank you for your kind words. It is people like you that makes all the effort involved worth while. We love show-casing the area to those who full in love with it as much as we do :) It's hard to beat that for sure. Please remember to let us know if you ever come back and we will offer... More

My husband and I are experienced riders, so we signed up for the five- hour ride. BEGINNERS, DO YOURSELF AND YOUR FELLOW RIDERS A FAVOR, TAKE THE SHORTER RIDES!! For people who don't ride, and haven't ridden in years, an hour to 90 minutes is all your body will want to do, and even then you're going to be very... More

We thank you for your review and find it shameful that you didn't enjoy your day. We can only go by what our clients tell us prior to booking as to their experience levels and we do get surprised at how many people over exaggerate their levels. The only way you can be 100% sure is to go on an... More

Have just returned from the two day 'Around the mountain' ride and I am still grinning. We were matched with perfect horses to match our abilities and personalities, they were each great characters but so safe and sane. The views were second to none. Our guide, Ruth, very quickly became a friend and was calm and knowledgeable in all situations.... More

Thank you so much for your review. Ruth also had a blast too. Also pleased we covered all aspects of your journey. Mother Nature has certainly given us a place of perfection. Glad you all enjoyed it. We are happy to share :) More

Did the Isengard tour which was great and had awesome views of Paradise. Horses were nice and well behaved mostly. This is a treat for people riding horses for the first time(this is mine and wife's second time). The only thing I wished could be better is if the guide could sound a little more enthusiastic about the tour, the... More

We had a great time on the Rees River Trail! The scenery is beautiful and we really appreciated that they cater to your experience and let you enjoy a calm peaceful ride or a nice trot or canter from time to time if you prefer. The horses are well trained but are individual creatures with personality - they'll give you... More
