Did the Isengard tour which was great and had awesome views of Paradise. Horses were nice and well behaved mostly. This is a treat for people riding horses for the first time(this is mine and wife's second time). The only thing I wished could be better is if the guide could sound a little more enthusiastic about the tour, the... More

We had a great time on the Rees River Trail! The scenery is beautiful and we really appreciated that they cater to your experience and let you enjoy a calm peaceful ride or a nice trot or canter from time to time if you prefer. The horses are well trained but are individual creatures with personality - they'll give you... More

This was a two-day trip on horseback into dramatic countryside. There were 6 people including our first-class guide, Max, who was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about the fauna and flora as well as the horses. Delicious and abundant food was provided for all meals and we had a very enjoyable experience. The 1-roomed hut with bunks was clean, comfortable and... More

Thank you for your review. I love hearing people enjoy the horses, guides and of course our beautiful Back Country. There is no better way to experience it than by horseback! Max is amazing and her knowledge is vast, she can show and teach so much about the area we are very lucky to have her as one of our... More

If you enjoy endangering your family then sign up for this pathetic excuse for a horse ride. College kids with absolutely no regard or appreciation for safety will take you on the ride of your life. Take ours for instance. My wife, eleven year old daughter and I signed up for the Reese river ride. We explicitly explained to the... More

I am writing in Bullets to show how pathetic this review is: * YOU choose the ride from our website. YOU choose the more adventurous of our two half day excursions. This includes river-crossings and also chances for trotting and cantering for for experienced riders (which the other couple with you were) *Your guide is a professional wrangler with two... More

We highly recommend the horse riding experience which was like an excellent quality horse riding lesson for many of the inexperienced riders or those of us who had not ridden for a while. Julia and Roly were very patient, most helpful and informative. It was a very windy day however they were very positive, friendly and in control of the... More

I booked the combo tour combining the Isengard tour and River Rees including lunch. It was such a fantastic day. Andrew, the bus driver, picked me up from my accommodation and from the start was incredibly knowledgeable about both the area and Lord of the Rings. Save your money on a LotR tour and go horse riding instead lol. He... More

As a Lord of the Ring fan I was excited to take a ride around some of the stunning filming locations and this horse trekking company had the right offer. Our group of 10 was split up onto two guides so we had a nice small group of 5. The guide was very knowledgeable and had a lot of storries... More

We took the Rees River ride. Saw (from afar) filming locations for Lord of the Rings. Knowledgeable, informative guides; rides based on ability. I was allowed to trot & canter while beginners stayed at a walk. A bonus for us North Americans - they have Western saddles available. Beautiful scenery as well.

Thank you for your review and we do take pride in being able to cater for all abilties. Having very small groups is the key and we try so hard not to allow large groups leaving the yard More

We booked activity due to awesome advertising video on website, which shows exciting action with lively horses and guides. What we experienced was a boring walk. We were paired with riders that had zero experience and required constant stopping and coaching. Made for a very slow and annoying ride. There's no doubt the scenery is amazing, but we had hoped... Thank you for your review, but we would like to know if you just looked at the pretty pictures? The video CLEARLY states it is our over night ride AROUND THE MOUNTAIN! You were on our 2.5 hour ride. Did you really think you were going to cover all of that in a 2.5 hour ride?? Maybe you should have... More

We did the Round the Mountain trip two weeks ago. My daughter and I were two of the three people riding with Max. Lovely, inspiring Max was encouraging and fun as well as very knowledgeable and experienced. She was a delight to be around. The horses were great and we had so much fun cantering, trotting, and walking through spectacular... More
