Certainly one of the Jewels of Derbyshire Spectacular history and spectacular views over the Vale of Scarsdale. Bolsover Castle hosts many events throughout the year too which I regularly attend with my family. Definitely a place to visit.

My granddaughter always enjoys her visits here. The staff are friendly. My only complaint is that the children's food boxes contain far too much sugar.

We arrived early and parked behind the community centre right by the castle - lots of space and free. A very short walk to the stables and castle itself all on flat ground. The audio guide is worth taking but s guide inside the castle...More

I have to say the visit to Bolsover Castle was very underwhelming. The views from the castle are worth seeing. The castle itself is mainly ruins apart from the 'little' castle. I always base my reviews on value for money and after paying £12.50 i...More

This is quite an interesting castle to visit and it is relatively intact although it was built primarily for entertainment. The keep is intact and has some decorative features. The other buildings are roofless but the walls are intact, The views from this castle are...More

I've been to a few of these and many can be rather souless. Bolsolver castle managed not only to be quite magical but Santa was both engaging with his story of robin and both gentle and absolutely hilarious with the children...I had tears in my...More

A good and interesting place to spend a few hours. Children can explore and there is a play park, child friendly, cafeteria and clean toilets. Great views from the castle on a fine day and an interesting tour. There are two small car parks, one...More

Beautiful castle and grounds. Tea room and souvenir shop staff beyond lovely. Visited on a bold damp day and still enjoyed it.

There's a large car park across from the castle. It has a couple of bays for coaches. Contact Bolsover District Council for more info.
