Staying in the Peak District and was given a voucher to give me a 'two for the price of one' entry to Bolsover Castle. We don't often visit stately homes (to see how our ancestral overlords lived) but we thought this might be interesting. Built...More

Cheap and time filler with an adventurous child. My 3 year old really enjoyed it and it didn't break the bank.

Visited when there were lots of young schoolchildren visiting too, but despite this there was room for everyone. The views and garden were lovely. However, the fireplaces and pictures on the walls of the Little Castle were amazing. There was a large gift shop and...More

Unlike many historic castles which require much imagination to ‘see’ what life was like amongst crumbling remains, Bolsover Castle is startlingly easy to appreciate and understand. Even amongst its elegant ruins, the grandeur of the place and the spectacular views provide superb visions of times...More

I visited the castle with my young family during a special medieval event. There was plenty of parking, as an additional car park in the town was made available (only a short walk from the castle). They had a cafe for sandwiches and drinks, but...More

There's a large car park across from the castle. It has a couple of bays for coaches. Contact Bolsover District Council for more info.
