The Kumano River Boat Tour was not quite as nice as I had expected. Our guide, although lovely, did not speak any English, and unfortunately I speak no Japanese. And even though they do provide you with a sheet with some basic information in English,...More

This is a open air canoe boat ride down the Kumanogawa -- very nice thing to do. The surroundings are pleasant and green and the water is just so clean. Along the way, the english speaking guides give you a pretty decent background on the...More

This is a delightful way to see the river. We were given life jackets and a pilgrims hat each, ( ideal, for the sun) and set off on a 90 minute tour. Our guide had reasonable English and was chatty and informative. The scenery was...More

A wonderful way to spend two hours, cruising up the Kumano river into the pristine Dorokyo Gorge. The river cruise will rival the Franklin River cruise in Tasmania, as we speed up the crystal clear waters into Dorokyo Gorge, with its magnificent rock formations
