The garden was beautiful but nothing more or less than that. I went to many beautiful gardens in Kyoto and other cities and this is not one of my favorite. It was quite artificial in many ways, no humble or sutle beauy of nature, it...More

This place is not mainly the garden but it's art house but the owner was in love with Japanese garden, so he just built the garden right next to the exhibition. The garden is very nice and neat and it's worth for the long drive...More

We visited the museum and it's gardens with a group in May. It was raining off and on the day of our visit and we were concerned about how this would impact our visit. To our pleasant surprise we found that one does not actually...More

I visited this most beautiful garden in autumn and spring. I understood this garden had different faces with colorful temptations. Like Venezia city in Italy, we want to visit there at least one times our lifetime. 四季折々の表情がとても良い。外国人におススメと言われるが、日本人も一度は訪れたい。しかし、いつ行くのが良いかと問われれば、秋をお勧めしたい。借景による遠景の山が見事なほどに、色ずく。

It is unlikely you will ever see a Japanese garden more beautiful than this one. Though there are only a few places where you can actually be outside in the garden (you mostly view the scene through large windows in the museum), this is more...More

Went to the museum as part of an organised tour. Took advantage of the audio guide, and that was very helpful noting the different aspects of the gardens. There were a large number of people in the museum and art gallery. The gardens had a...More

Adachi-San built these perfect gardens that are viewed from inside a busy series of rooms. The restaurants, ice cream, gift shops and coach parking lot make for a perfect attraction. But on Golden Week it was Very busy with Princess and Tauck tour buses! I...More

We went there as part of the tour today and it was different and nice to see an authentic Japanese garden. The artwork is nice too. But for me it was the gardens. Be mindful there isn't much by way of eateries around except for...More

Absolutely stunning gardens, took many many photos here. You don't get to actually walk in them but the windows were so big it didn't make a difference and they framed the views beautifully. The museum was interesting too. A real highlight for us.

We came for the gardens, and while meticulously manicured, we found them a little bit soulless compared to the nearby Yuushien gardens. And you're always behind a rope or a wall, so you don't feel like you're in a garden, but always looking into one....More

It's quite far away. It takes about 3.5 - 4 hours from Kyoto to Yasugi (about 390 km). It will cost around 12,000 yen (one way). Take the Nozomi bullet train from Kyoto to Okayama (it's 3 stops). Then, transfer to the JR... More
