It is unlikely you will ever see a Japanese garden more beautiful than this one. Though there are only a few places where you can actually be outside in the garden (you mostly view the scene through large windows in the museum), this is more...More

Went to the museum as part of an organised tour. Took advantage of the audio guide, and that was very helpful noting the different aspects of the gardens. There were a large number of people in the museum and art gallery. The gardens had a...More

Adachi-San built these perfect gardens that are viewed from inside a busy series of rooms. The restaurants, ice cream, gift shops and coach parking lot make for a perfect attraction. But on Golden Week it was Very busy with Princess and Tauck tour buses! I...More

We went there as part of the tour today and it was different and nice to see an authentic Japanese garden. The artwork is nice too. But for me it was the gardens. Be mindful there isn't much by way of eateries around except for...More

Absolutely stunning gardens, took many many photos here. You don't get to actually walk in them but the windows were so big it didn't make a difference and they framed the views beautifully. The museum was interesting too. A real highlight for us.

We came for the gardens, and while meticulously manicured, we found them a little bit soulless compared to the nearby Yuushien gardens. And you're always behind a rope or a wall, so you don't feel like you're in a garden, but always looking into one....More

One could visit these magnificent gardens a number of different times of the year to enjoy the full extent and variety of this site. The detail and beauty are hard to describe but a visit would definitely be memorable. The art gallery here is also...More

This Japanese garden alias museum is meant to be admired from the outside. No one walks the raked paths or smells the flora. Everything has to be admired from within a nice structure, from behind glass windows

There is no doubt that the artwork in this Museum is outstanding and well worth getting a audio guide to truly appreciate them. The collection is outstanding! As well as the artwork the entire museum is set among the most elegant and simply devine gardens...More

This was again one of those lovely Japanese surprises, a place that you don't know of but leaves you pleased that you went there. The gardens are beautiful and the posters of the gardens in the four seasons shows how lovely they are throughout the...More

It's quite far away. It takes about 3.5 - 4 hours from Kyoto to Yasugi (about 390 km). It will cost around 12,000 yen (one way). Take the Nozomi bullet train from Kyoto to Okayama (it's 3 stops). Then, transfer to the JR... More
