This is a wonderfu place with very well done exhibits about Okinawa, before during and after WW2. It is a poignant and timely reminder of the horrors of war and why it is important to never trust old men who want to send other peoples...More

The exhibits at this museum are very well done and this is an absolute must if you are in Okinawa. The museum, park and cliffs are thought provoking and memorable as our most productive and insightful learning experience in Japan.

This is a must see when visiting Okinawa. The park is amazingly moving and tranquil. If you going to venture into the museum, allow several hours for your visit. The museum contains many graphic photos. Be prepared, the Okinawan people truly suffered during the war.

The Peace Memorial is told heavily from the Okinawans point of view. Since the majority of lives lost on the island during the battle for Okinawa were local civilians, that is understandable. There are many artifacts, displays, photos to spend a couple of moving hours...More
