Many parts of the castle have been nicely rebuilt. A good place with lots of greenery to relax or for exercise walking/running. A short walk from the station. A lot of other recommended tourist spots are nearby.

some of the old castle wall has been built into the replica walls; authentically rebuilt in a large area of beautiful parkland right in Yamagata City; a very peaceful retreat
