Hase-dera is also nicknamed a flower 's temple, so it came to be called so because flowers do not go through throughout the year like cherry blossoms, peony, hydrangeas, autumn leaves in autumn. As I go through the mountain gate, I climb a long...more

I've seen many beautiful temples, but this one has an amazing view of the town and the sea. The Hydrangea path is gorgeous.

Although I was taught there as "A spot where I can feel its fascination even on rainy days", the fascination of the temple was above my imagination. Many buildings in the precincts are made of wood, some constructions have been over 100...More

My only wish is to have visited here on a cooler day. The reward of the beauty of this temple and its surroundings is worth the effort that is required to walk from the train station to here.

Hasedara Temple is a bit of a train ride from Nara but well worth it if you like to get off the well-worn tourist trail. It is a spiritual pilgrimage site so popular with devout Buddhists, not so much with tourists. The adjacent town is...More
