Numazu is one of our favourite places to visit and we come here every trip to Japan. To get here take the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Mishima and then change train and Numazu is one stop away by the coast. Numazu has a fishing port...More

We stopped off here for an explore and lunch. Lots of restaurants and great fresh seafood. Worth having a walk around if you are in the area. Huge flood gate to protect the area.

Hubby discovered this place when he went out for a jog and was fascinated by the tidal wave gate - a huge piece of concrete that can be lowered in the case of a tsunami.

I walked the sky view and it was cloudy day so couldn't see Fuji. It was bustling with people at the local eateries which are naturally expensive. There's not much else to see here. I should've stayed in Hakone.

The port has some nice seafood shops and restaurants which is what Numazu is famous for. Parking can be a little difficult at peak times however. There is also an aquarium which I didn't visit as it looked a little small for the price (1600...More
