We took some time to drive to Lanciano to visit this site. The miracle is in a beautiful church, as are most in Italy. A very holy site visited by many people of faith. I’m glad we stopped but I will also echo the fact...More

We stopped here on our way to San Giovanni Rotondo and were fortunate to coincide with Mass being said. The Miracle from the 9th century is above the altar and it was very special to be able to see it during the Mass. The church...More

We visited Santuario del Miracolo Eucaristico whilst trying to fill our days in Abruzzo and on a visit to Lanciano. We had unfortunately missed the earlier morning opening but decided to hang around for 30-minutes to catch it when it reopened at 3pm. Very glad...More

I won't recount the story here, but I do agree with a previous reviewer--be familiar with the miracle first so you understand what you are experiencing. We were fortunate to visit at the same time as a group of pilgrims from the US, so we...More

Yet anorher beatiful church in Italy. The church tells a story of one of the most important catholic dogmas. Beatiful and modesty building and interior gives the right atmosphaere. The miracle story should be read before the visit for the best experience.

It is fun exploring the different sites in Lanciano, but this one was very impressive. Everything is so intricate and detailed, it's something I will remember for years to come. Regardless of religious belief, I find anyone could take something from visiting.

Beautiful and open in the evenings. The attendant in the gift shop spoke English and was helpful. Allow at least an hour and a half to see.

This is where an 8th century monk was dubtful about the Real Presence of Jesus. During his celebration of Mass the host turned into flesh and the wine into blood. There is a monstrous with the host turned into heart muscle and wine turned into...More
