Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had an incredible time! Our tour guide Ed was super knowledgeable, friendly and helped us have an unforgettable evening. The local knowledge he brought really enhanced the evening. We loved seeing some kiwis in their natural environment and would highly recommend to others!

Brilliant tour thank you with plenty of kiwi activity! An easy walk in the park so would recommend for young and old. Also great to enjoy our native bush at night with a cup of hot chocolate & a cookie.

My wife and I did the nighttime Kiwi walk and we saw 5 Kiwis plus a Morepork. Our guide was Annie and she is a keen wildlife enthusiast who gladly shared her love of Nature in general and Kiwis in particular. She was especially delighted to see a Morepork. I highly recommend this experience.

Oysters, Wine, amazing food and all finished off with chocolate decadence, what a tour! Ed, our driver was brilliant and our group of 8 all came away from the day saying they loved it. I would definitely recommend Kiwiness Tours and our group are all wanting to come back and do the kiwi night tour later in the year.

We had a great time at kiwiness tours our tour guide was very friendly and kindly shared hot chocolate and cookies with us, even in the dark it was very enjoyable! We saw two kiwis and heard them as well, as well as a couple of others that we didn't see. It was like a real orchestra out there. We heard both male and female bird calls. As well as kiwis we saw a Weta and an NZ wood pidgeon (Kereu) and heard a morepork as well.

What an amazing experience! On the last day of march we had the evening of our lives. If you are in the neighbourhood you must do this! Ed, the guide was a funny and remarkeble person. He told us everything we needed to know before we began the search for kiwi. We saw some amazing things and we really loved the kiwi's! We had such a wonderful time here. Really enjoyed it!

This was a wonderful opportunity to see Kiwis in the wild right in my backyard. I grew up about 15km from Tawharanui Regional Park and this my first night trip to see Kiwi. Ed was a fab tour guide and went above and beyond to ensure we managed to spot one of these cute little creatures.

On the last day of March (and almost the last day of our NZ trip), we booked this tour to finally see some kiwi's in their natural habitat. Together with our tour guide Ed and 2 other couples from Belgium and the UK, we made our way to Tawharanui National Park. Ed was a nice and educational guide (and also a lot of fun!) who learned us more about the kiwi's and other birds in the National Park and gave us lots op tips how to spot a kiwi. Armed with our red light torches we made our way to the forest where, after 20 minutes, we spotted already 5 kiwi's!! The key thing is to be as quiet as possible so you can hear the noises the kiwi make so you know where to look for this special bird. After a hot chocolate & cookie break, we made our way back and in total we spotted 10 kiwi's which is quite exceptional according to Ed. The most memorable was 1 baby kiwi (quite blind) who was highly disturbed by the noise made by another group in the park and he started to run and passed just next to us, bumping into a tree and then bumping into one of the persons of our group.
