Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This shop, that we heard about from others, is like a small museum and time capsule , bringing memories of growing up in the 1950's. We enjoyed a chat with the friendly proprietor who we understand is part of the family the originally started the store., Soak up the rural atmosphere. We definitely would visit again if we return to Collingwood.

The Langford Store is a not to yesteryear. Crammed full of stuff from days gone by, very interesting to look around. There is also a small cafe on site with tea served in china and a tea cosy for the pot. Lovely pot of tea served with a rummy scones with jam and cream.

Friends took me here and devil's boots many years ago when we were in the area, so I took my husband out to show him. The host was busy doing something in the shop, so we bought a couple of ice creams (reasonably priced) and ate them out the front, which gave us time to sit and check out the paraphernalia outside. Drop in at the Golden Bay Machinery & Early Settlers Museum on your way.

We love to come here. It’s an easy drive from Collingwood. There’s a lovely lady who will welcome you you can have coffee dear beautiful cakes or biscuits. Or ice cream. The place is self it’s like a museum and has lots of wonderful art and things from the past.If you come this way you can’t miss this.

This charming shop is like a small museum, recalling our fading memories from the 1950s. We enjoyed a chat with the friendly proprietor over a good coffee, soaking up sunshine and the rural atmosphere. We would visit again if we return to Collingwood.

Wow what a find, so glad we stopped. What a little gem, we all enjoyed exploring everything in the store, the children as much as the adults. Do stop if you are in the area, we had icecream and lollies but would go again for scones and tea or coffee and cake because everything looked delicious. You can spend as much or as little time as you want, perfect if you are having a relaxing holiday.

A hidden gem that’s well worth a detour if you are not on your way to the Heaphy track. It’s difficult to describe, but it’s time capsule, institution, art gallery, knitwear treasure trove, coffee shop, old post office and more besides. Sukhita is carrying on the family tradition and does it to the manner born. Take your time, soak up the atmosphere, use the long drop and enjoy the home baking.. it’s set in a lovely valley and there are some great not too strenuous walks nearby.

What a lovely surprise in the middle of nowhere. We drove towards the heaphy track and we passed an old building with a sign "ice cream". As we just did a day walk we know we would pass the place again and we planned to stop to see if there was coffee. Well were we surprised. Yes, there is coffee and a good coffee. But it is also a kind of museum with all kind of old home ware. You can sit outside and enough the scenery. You can sit in the garden. You can sit in the museum. The staff is very friendly. Hopefully it will continue to exist, because I love to come back. I really recommend to go here. It is approximately 10 to 15 minutes drive from Collingwood. So worth it.

Personally I found this 'store' a better museum than the one in Collingwood. Both in terms of the antiques and artifacts, and in terms of the olde-worlde service. Lots of interesting craft work for sale. Not the supply of groceries that I witnessed on my last visit about 35 years ago, but still much charm. Needs a lick of paint, but I know, I know...
