Farewell Spit Eco Tours began in 1946 as the mail delivery to the lighthouse keepers on Farewell spit. Farewell Spit is a nature reserve and bird sanctuary. Summer home to wading birds from the Arctic and also a growing Gannet colony near the end. Our hand picked local guides love to share their knowledge with people from all over the world, many of whom return on subsequent visits to our country.

fantastic commentary, informative and fun just a wonderful bunch of people, no silent spots and not boring a whole tour of information, history and a really good laugh would definitely recommend that you do this tour!

Whilst not an exciting adventure, this was a really pleasant day out to a place travellers can't visit independently. Interesting history and beautiful scenery. The tour guide was knowledgeable and kept us entertained. Such a beautiful area and definitely worth doing.

We absolutely loved this experience - all 6 hours of it. The scenery was spectacular, the bus was comfortable and the fun was stopping on a whim to explore something interesting to one of the passengers.
