perfect example of man trying to tame nature. the canal was built a century ago to control the flood plain in area. wouldn’t happen these days. still a nice ride/walk. various entry points along the way. ends at elwood park on the beach which is...More

We stayed 2 blocks from the canal and either walked or biked it several times a week. Seeing the tidal changes was interesting. The St Kilda street bridge, built in 1905, is the oldest surviving and probably the first reinforced concrete bridge built in Australia....More
