The Half Dome rock is visible from several points in the valley floor but the best view is from Glacier Point. It's one of the reasons that makes the long drive to Glacier Point worthwhile

You can see this dome from many places in the park. The drive up the mountains are twisty and scary but worth it for the views. Few working bathrooms in the park. Road side pull offs for photos are few and small and fill up...More

Best hike in Yosemite, great scenery. The view from the top is spectacular. Last part of the hike using rope is fun. Getting permit is hard. Please wear goo hiking shoe and have gloves.

Did the Half Dome hike, it was long and hard, but the view and sense of accomplishment are well worth it. Built my entire California vacation around my permit to do the hike!

But that doesn't detract from it at all...in fact it makes it all the more awesome. It surely looks like it once had had another half. Half Dome is another opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the incredible granite that makes up Yosemite!

Really, solid granite? The story behind it is amazing. Seen from the Valley it is impressive. A great photo opportunity not to be missed, like you could miss a massive 1/2 round mountain. And try to see it several times a day, the light is...More

I've done this hike twice now and both times my breath was taken away. 1.) because of the altitude and hardcore hiking 2.) the absolutely, amazing views. Unless you're an avid and experienced hiker, I wouldn't suggest trying this one without any training. Make sure...More

Mythic mountain of Yosemite. A must see. We unfortunately did not manage to get a permit to climb it so we will have to get back there. We did an alternative hike to cloud's rest which is beautiful

From far away the half dome can already be seen. From closer by, seen fro the valley, it is really impressive.
