You can actually see this mountain from many spots throughout the Valley. Unbelievable sight! Few bathrooms in the park that are open and scary twisty roads to reach many of these sites.

Not that you would miss it if you are in Yosemite Valley, but it is an amazing site to see. Be sure to stop in the meadow nearby and get a good picture of it and watch the people climbing it.

What a monster mountain! One of the key stops in Yosemite Park. You can even see climbers on it if you look closely. It takes a few minutes to soak in the size of it.

El Capitan dominates the landscape from every spot in the valley. Three great places to enjoy it. One, if you pull off the road alongside the great valley meadow. Two, the small pull off of Valley View, not well marked, but it’s beside the mountain...More

An imposing mountain flaking one side of the valley. Paradise for climbers. Definitely must be awesome to get up there

We had seen al capitan in a documentary and were curious to see it in reality. It is bigger and more impressive than we imagined. We saw mountaineers climbing the rock, courageous.

You can't imagine the size of this until you actually see it in person. Made me feel so small in this vast creation.

I've visited this park several times beginning in 1953. It is a natural wonder that everyone should see. Breathtaking waterfalls, ancient living sequoia trees, high altitude fields of spring wildflowers in July, vistas overlooking lakes and deep valleys all to be appreciated. There is even...More

Go to the El Capitan Meadow area. Just follow the main road, and look on a map. You can park along the side of this road. Bring binoculars. Climbers look like specks on the granite wall.

Take a hike to Vernal Fall, not too strenuous, worth the effort!
