Lots of impressive architecture here, some parks, and lots of people around. Also lots of unique restaurants. So this is a part of town that is worth visiting when you get tired of the beach.

The downtown area is often overlooked by tourist but worth a visit. Interesting architecture mingling with modern buildings and interesting little shops

The main area in Honolulu is Waikiki. There's really not much to do in Downtown. There are businesses and shopping. Unless you have business in Downtown, shopping at the Ala Moana Mall and Waikiki is better.
